What is an Authorized Retailer of Hearing Aids?

As an authorized retailer of the top brands in hearing healthcare, this means that our customers can have peace of mind when purchasing from us. With the explosion of deals being offered on the internet, consumers need to be aware of the risks associated with these purchases. First, some manufacturers have stated that hearing aids purchased through unauthorized dealers may not have valid warranties. In addition, many of these internet companies have popped up, only to disappear shortly after. Ear to Hear locations have been in existence for more than 30 years. In addition to peace of mind, we offer some of the best hearing aid pricing around.

Resound's Product Warranty Statement

GN ReSound’s product warranties are offered only in connection with sales via authorized distribution channels. Sales via direct mail and internet (including eBay and other online channels) are not authorized by GN ReSound, and as a result any product warranties originally associated with such products shall be void. GN ReSound will not provide or reinstate product warranties with respect to devices obtained through unauthorized distribution channels. Each product warranty is provided for the benefit of the individual originally assigned to the serialized device only. Product warranties are not transferable. Any device sent to GN ReSound for service or repair that has not been obtained by the user via an authorized distribution channel (as determined by GN ReSound in its sole discretion) will be confiscated or returned to the user unrepaired.

Our Commitment to Quality, Care, and Compliance

Sonova USA Inc. (“Sonova USA”), part of the global Sonova Group, is dedicated to ensuring that every individual has access to a hearing solution that improves their quality of life. At Ear to Hear, we share this commitment by prioritizing patient outcomes, ethical practices, and high standards of professional care.

To support these goals, Sonova USA has established a Brand Protection Program for the United States, along with Brand Standards, designed to protect patients, hearing care professionals, and the integrity of premium hearing aid brands such as Phonak and Unitron.

These standards exist to:

  • Ensure patients receive a positive experience and optimal benefit from their hearing aids, whether purchased in person or online

  • Support fair competition among licensed hearing care professionals in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines

  • Protect the quality, performance, and reputation of prescription hearing aid products

As a retailer of prescription hearing aids, Ear to Hear fully complies with these standards. This includes meeting all professional, clinical, and regulatory requirements, such as:

  • Maintaining all required state and professional licenses and certifications

  • Complying with all applicable state and federal laws related to marketing, testing, fitting, and dispensing hearing instruments

  • Holding appropriate credentials with applicable third-party payers when services or products are provided

  • Requiring a valid audiogram from a licensed hearing care professional prior to fitting

  • Providing professional hearing aid fittings—either in person or remotely, where legally permitted—along with fine-tuning appointments

  • Making ongoing follow-up care available through licensed hearing care professionals

  • Ensuring prescription hearing aids are sold and shipped only within the United States

In addition, the program outlines expectations for product care and customer service to ensure patients receive consistent, high-quality support throughout their hearing journey.

Through this page, Ear to Hear reaffirms its commitment to prescription hearing aids as FDA-regulated medical devices. By adhering to Sonova’s Program and Standards, we help ensure that every patient receives not only premium hearing technology, but also the professional guidance, clinical care, and long-term support necessary for an exceptional hearing experience—whether online or in a traditional clinical setting.

Widex Online Retailer Policy

Widex Authorized Dealer and Warranty Statement

Widex is firmly committed to providing purchasers with best-in-class, reliable hearing aids through authorized dealers. At Widex, we believe end-users of our hearing aids can only receive the full benefit of our products when they are selected, fit and maintained by a licensed professional. Our hearing aids are sophisticated, FDA registered medical devices that require professional guidance in the selection, fitting and maintenance of the product. Accordingly, Widex will not supply hearing aids to retailers that do not provide face-to-face diagnostics, counseling, selection, fitting and maintenance of our hearing aids.

Our policy is to honor product warranties and to perform services only on products purchased from an authorized Widex dealer. If you purchase a Widex product from an unauthorized dealer, your Widex warranty will not be valid.

Unfortunately, there are some website and dealers who claim to be authorized Widex resellers but are not. Products sold on these websites or from these dealers do not carry a warranty from Widex. When you purchase products from an unauthorized website or dealer, you are taking a risk, because those products may be counterfeit, used, defective or may not be appropriate for use based on your specific hearing loss. Usage of hearing aids without professional supervision may worsen certain hearing conditions.

INTERNET WARNING

Widex does not sell products to online retailers that do not require a licensed professional to conduct face-to-face diagnostics, fitting, counseling, selection, and maintenance of our hearing aids. Online sales of Widex hearing aids without face-to face meetings between the patient and a licensed Hearing Healthcare Professional are unauthorized and will void Widex warranties. Widex reserves the right to deny supply of its products to any account that it learns is directly or indirectly conducting unauthorized online sales as we are dedicated to ensuring a premium, personalized fitting with all Widex hearings aids.

Please protect yourself and your Widex product by ensuring that you only purchase Widex products from an Authorized Widex Dealer. To see a list of Widex authorized dealers, please click here.

Signia Online Retailer Policy

Guidelines for the Purchase and Distribution of Signia hearing instruments

Signia designs, develops and manufactures hearing instruments for distribution by credentialed, licensed hearing health care professionals who provide service and support for individuals with hearing loss in compliance with all applicable state, federal and professional regulations and law.

Signia hearing instruments are medical devices regulated by the USA Food and Drug Administration and are not consumer electronic devices. Our products and the support of our products require professional face-to-face in-person fitting and follow-up. Our products are not designed for, nor intended for delivery to individuals with hearing loss where the individual is unable to benefit from professional face-to-face in-person fitting and support.

At our sole discretion and determination, Signia reserves the right to refuse and/or cancel orders for our hearing instruments from individuals whose businesses we believe do not or cannot themselves provide professional face-to-face in-person fitting and support to individuals with hearing loss or take sufficient measures to ensure that these individuals will ultimately receive a professional face-to-face in-person fitting. Signia will independently and unilaterally determine whether this fitting and support requirement is offered and/or provided.

We believe that hearing health care professionals are an integral part of the appropriate selection of, delivery of, and satisfaction with Signia hearing instruments because they can provide many benefits to individuals with hearing loss. For example, hearing health care professionals provide:

  • expert technical understanding of our products to the consumer
  • professional individualized fitting based upon individual needs
  • access to and use of our proprietary professional software fitting systems
  • professional knowledge of hearing loss and hearing rehabilitation
  • many other value added services and support

Questions or comments regarding these purchase and distribution guidelines must be set forth in writing and sent to Signia, Attn: Distribution Guidelines, 101 Wood Avenue South, 7th floor, Iselin, NJ 08830. These guidelines may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time and at Signia’s sole discretion.
